About Us
We moved here over twenty-five years ago with a couple of quarter horses and a pony for our fifteen month old little girl named Melissa.  Krista started showing horses when she was twelve years old and has been involved in the industry in many ways.  Melissa started showing at the age of seven on her shetland/welsh pony "Boot Legger Duke" and her little 40" speed pony named "Little Sugar".  She moved on to her Quarter Horse, "Sir Jody Jack" starting at the Open shows and then moving on to the Quarter Horse Shows.

                                                             "Boots"                                     "Sugar"                                 "Jody"

While we were showing in the open shows, our whole family starting showing.
Michelle was four years old and showed Krista's 16.1 hand quarter horse
"It's Up To You Bailey", plus all the other ponies.  "Bailey" was a Quarter
Horse Congress Champion in showmanship.  The highlight
of Michelle's career for MOM was watching her little four year old show
a huge 16.1 hand horse in showmanship at a Two Day
Youth Event and placing third out of twenty horses.  She could
run straight under his nose.  She also was hardly ever beaten in
Walk Trot.
There were, of course, many other memorable events like this
Halloween Fun Show where the girls showed all day in their
Halloween costumes.

We then took a turn in another direction when Melissa
decided that she would like to learn to show Hunter/Jumpers.
We purchased a three year old unbroke quarter horse for her to
train on her own.  She was shown at some local Hunter/Jumper
shows and then sold.  Melissa's first job "well done".  She also
trained her quarter horse, "Jody" to do the same.  He was
sold and still is jumping at a prominent Hunter/Jumper stable in Lake
St. Louis, Missouri.  She then moved on to a 16.3 Thoroughbred that was
off the race track name "We Dance Today".
"Dan" had just begun his training when we came in contact with our
first miniature horses at the AMHR Nationals.  After visiting farms
in Missouri, Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois, we purchased our first three
miniatures, one of which was Double B Farms Vandy Man.  We soon
sold our last big horse "Dan" who is in Ohio being shown in
Dressage.   And here we are.

Melissa and her husband, Lucas are co-owners of the farm with Krista since
her divorce.  Melissa works full time taking care of the house, stable, kennel,
and of course, keeping up with Ryan.  A big thank you to Lucas for his
daily support.  He comes home every day from working full time at Rothman
Furniture and heads straight to the barn.  He helps at all the shows (even
showing a little).  We could not do it without him.  They enjoy their business
L & M Boxers ~ breeding, raising, and selling Registered Boxers

The best addition to Royal T Farm is Ryan Lucas Preis, born
November 27, 2006.  He is Grandma's PRIDE and JOY.  He is quite the little
helper in the barn.  He loves to ride his John Deere tractor, play in the dirt,
water, shavings, you name it, he is in to it.  He actually likes to help clean
stalls.  That probably won't last long.  He also likes to
re-organize everything.  We find things in some  unusual places.  He has
picked out his favorite horses, Vandy and Neon, being his first choice.  He is just
starting to ride a little.  He is showing them in Leadline, Halter, Color,
and Western Country Pleasure Driving.
If Ryan shows up at your stalls ~ send him back to ours ~ Please.

Michelle works full-time as the office manager of a security company and attends college
full-time, working on her Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Human Resources.
In all her spare time, she enjoys playing with her "daughter" Lexie (really her dog)
and show her two horses ~ Challenge and Stylish.
